Healthy Resolutions to take into 2023 🤍
Happy New Year Unicorn Fam! 🤍
A new year often comes with new resolutions. We set the bar high and promise ourselves to workout every day, excel in our careers and relationships all while maintaining a healthy diet.
The key to New Year Resolution's is to be realistic.
It's important that your goals are realistic, so that you can stay consistent and see results in the long haul. Instead of going from 0 to 100, set your goal halfway.
For example, if you normally workout once a week, set your goal to work out 3 times per week, instead of 6 times.
This leaves less room for feelings of disappointment and failure, which will make it easier to keep a positive mindset and sustain your new routine.
Instead of trying to change yourself, try to become the best version of yourself. For you are already perfect as you are!
To help you get inspired, we have listed 5 of our favourite Healthy Resolutions below.
1. Spend more time in nature
It's no secret that spending time in nature will make you feel more at ease, relaxed and happy. There is no better way to unwind after a busy work day than a walk on the beach, or in your local park.
Not to mention that spending time outdoors is a great way to get your body moving, and for your skin to soak up some Vitamin D (always wear sunscreen).
2. Prep your morning juice/smoothie
A lot of people spend their mornings rushing around trying to get to their destination in time. Often, breakfast becomes an after thought and sometimes even a quick unhealthy snack.
Take time on the weekend to prep your morning smoothie or juice. Simply freeze your favourite drink in an ice cube tray so that all you have to do during the week is add them to your tumbler with a little bit of water.
Adding Superfoods to your morning drinks is the perfect way to eat more fruits and greens. For a cleansing morning smoothie, we highly recommend adding 1-2 tsp of our Alkalising, Antioxidant or Immunity Blend.
3. Find a workout routine that your body loves
Every body is different, and so are our interests and energy levels. Your friend might love going to the gym at 5am in the morning, while you couldn't think of anything worse.
Find a workout routine you like and mix things up. Create a workout schedule around your weekly routine that is easy to stick to. Make sure to include rest days too, as a reward for your hard work.
And most importantly, listen to your body. If you have a HIIT Class booked and wake up not feeling well, honour your body's needs by opting for a slower workout, or a rest day.
4. Keep healthy relationships
We all know the saying: 'You are only as good as the company you keep'.
Evaluate the important relationships in your life from time to time. Every relationship can come with its challenges, but it should bring you energy and happiness over worry and negative emotions. If the balance is off, it's time to do something about it.
5. Eat consistently
Eating consistently helps you maintain a balanced diet, keeps your blood sugar consistent and helps your stomach to optimally digest. Ideally you want to eat (even if it's a snack) every 3-4 hours.
Often forget to eat? Set a reminder in your phone and make sure you always carry some healthy snacks with you.
